Millburn Turkey Bowl
My name is Zach Maitlin. I am a Senior at Millburn High School. I founded this organization and organized the first annual Turkey Bowl, which took place in November of 2021!
Both events have raised over $1000, which have gone towards the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and Missy's Miracle! The first event inspired me to create this foundation in which many more tournaments will be held to donate money to various causes.
Over 100 kids from Millburn High School participated in the tournament, creating a 12 team round robin tournament.
I am extremely happy with how the tournament turned out and how competitive everyone was! I cannot wait to continue having these events in the future, even when I visit from college!
SOCCER FOR DREAMERS
Our names are Baruch, Jed, and Kayden Akwaboah, and we currently reside in Millburn, New Jersey, but are originally from Hertfordshire, England, and we have also lived in Singapore for 7 years.
We've been playing soccer since the age of 4. Throughout our lives, we have developed so much love for the game. We know that our ability to play the game we love every day is largely because of our access to facilities and soccer gear. However what we have experienced, through living and traveling to several different continents is that, talented players who share the same amount of love for soccer as we do, can’t afford to play because they just simply do not have access to the gear and facilities that we do. Whether it is through not being able to afford cleats, not having jerseys, shin guards or clothes, a lot of these children in places like Ghana cannot develop their talent.
Due to some of these reasons my brothers and I want to help as many children as possible. For these children in Ghana, soccer is not just entertainment, it is a way out of the financial predicament that a lot of them are in.
We want to donate whatever would help these children play the sport that they love and come a step closer to attaining what was once a dream for them.
It would be greatly appreciated if you can donate at least one item of any old or new cleats, shin guards, balls or even jerseys of whatever size. If you would prefer to donate money to help with shipping costs, please shoot us a dm.
Drop off locations are ISP Randolph, KicksnSticks in Millburn, or if easier, we can also pick up within 20 miles of Millburn, NJ. Collection in the month of April only. Thank you so much!

Other Ways to Help
100% of proceeds from every tournament will go towards a different charity, depending on the event! Teams will have to pay a certain amount to register their team.
Not only is this all for a great cause, but it's an even better way to get together with friends and compete with peers! Depending on the sport, you'll be able to join a team with 6-8 of your friends to help make a difference in the world while representing Millburn.
If you cannot find a team or have enough to register, don't worry! There are tons of ways you can help out. At every tournament, there will be a booth at center field to collect any type of donation (cash, Venmo, physical goods, etc.) If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to our email for opportunities!
